Gabriella Torres-Ferrers Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit den gesellschaftlichen Transformationen, die die Entwicklung moderner Kybernetik mit sich bringt. Xies Arbeit richtet den Blick auf unsere digitale Realität und will verstehen, wie diese Natur neu definiert.
Gabriella Torres-Ferrer hat online und offline auf der The Wrong New Digital Art Biennale in São Paulo, Mexiko-Stadt, San Juan und Santo Domingo ausgestellt; A.I.R. feminist collective, New York; Phillip Martin, Los Angeles; Curro, Guadalajara; Gianni Manhattan, Wien; Embajada, San Juan. Xier nahm teil an der Whitney Biennale 2017, Occupy Museums, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York/USA und stellte im Museo del Barrio, New York/USA aus.
Gabriella Torres-Ferrer war Stipendiat*in am Beta-Local, San Juan/Puerto Rico und erhielt für xies Arbeit die Auszeichnung als Gastkünstler*in am CERN Collide, Genf/Schweiz. GABRIELLA TORRES-FERRER
Gabriella Torres-Ferrer considers the implications of existence within networked globalized life and explores their interest in the societal transformations of modern cybernetics. In essence, their works examine how our digital reality redefines nature.
Gabriella Torres-Ferrers has exhibited at The Wrong New Digital Art Biennale online and offline in São Paulo, Mexico City, San Juan and Santo Domingo; A.I.R. feminist collective, New York; Phillip Martin, Los Angeles; Curro, Guadalajara; Gianni Manhattan, Vienna; Embajada, San Juan. They have participated with Occupy Museums Debtfair at the Whitney Museum of American Art and Museo del Barrio, New York.
Gabriella Torres-Ferrers is a former resident of Beta Local’s La Práctica fellowship in San Juan. They are a 2020-2021 recipient of the Akademie Schloss Solitude Artist-in-Residence fellowship in Stuttgart and received an honorary mention as a guest artist at CERN Collide, Geneve, Switzerland.
