SKYE NICOLAS
Skye Nicolas facilitates the distillation of intimate conversation and hidden dialogue expressed in a stylistic visual language. The complex interweaving of layered conceptual elements and graphic sensibilities allow for the exploration of a recurring theme he refers to as an induced nostalgia: inhabiting memories that feel familiar but never existed; digital déjà vu. This manufactured cerebral experience is manifested in the creation of digital artifacts—virtual fragments originating from what could be a carefully edited subconscious.
Skye Nicolas has shown in New York City, London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and at the Dallas Contemporary art museum. Past exhibitions have been supported by Philly Adams of the Saatchi Gallery of London, Jay Jopling, and Sir Norman Rosenthal. His work has been featured in Kunstforum International, Whitewall Magazine, Self Service, L’Officiel, and Vogue España.
