CT 2022-V1 is the first in a series of exhibitions correlating artists' works on space, time and reality with hermetically sealed time capsules whose contents remain secret until a later opening date. Conceived as an extension of the work, a random module, the stainless steel time capsule poses an intimate archaeology that can be made collective, exhibited, diverted, floating, at the whim of the temporal waves that push it stochastically towards an unknown destination and recipient. The time capsule is a black box whose light propagates at the speed of passing years. Buried or placed in front of us, it is but a reflection of ourselves. We make its interior "our own", an unconscious, inaccessible form. Knowing that it exists, that it's in a fixed place in our memory, is reassuring. We'd like to have several of these fixed points filled with the unknown, these parts of nothingness that we carry around virtually, bubbles of controlled, contained chaos, ready to burst one day.
