Tegernsee, April 22, 2026 – How is artificial intelligence transforming the art world? What opportunities and challenges arise from the merging of technology and creativity? These and other questions will be at the center of the event Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, taking place on April 24, 2026 at 6:30 pm at the Olaf Gulbransson Museum in Tegernsee. Karl-Heinz Land, CEO and founder of the AI company neuland.ai, will participate as a panelist in a high-profile discussion, contributing the perspective of one of Germany’s leading AI companies.
Alongside Karl-Heinz Land, the panel will include Anton Biebl, Director of the Bavarian State Painting Collections; Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Heckl, former Director General of the Deutsches Museum in Munich; and media artist Ornella Fieres. The discussion will be moderated by Michael Beck, Chairman of the Olaf Gulbransson Society e.V. Tegernsee. Together, the participants will explore how AI can be used as a tool in art and what implications this has for the creative process and the role of human agency.
Artificial intelligence is not an autonomous actor in art, but a tool. It can accelerate processes and generate variations, yet meaning only emerges through human decision-making. At the same time, AI raises important questions in the arts, particularly regarding authorship, creativity, and the role of humans in the act of creation. “AI is not a substitute for artists, but a tool that enables entirely new creative horizons,” explains Karl-Heinz Land. He sees great opportunities in this technological development, while also emphasizing the responsibility to engage with AI thoughtfully. “Art and AI can achieve remarkable things together, but we must place the dialogue between human and machine at the center.”

Together with his wife, gallerist Priska Pasquer, he has created a space for reflection on art and AI in Cologne. Die Moderation übernimmt Michael Beck, Vorstandsvorsitzender der Olaf Gulbransson Gesellschaft e.V. Tegernsee. Gemeinsam setzen sich die Teilnehmer mit den Fragen auseinander, wie KI als Werkzeug in der Kunst eingesetzt werden kann und welche Konsequenzen dies für den kreativen Prozess und die Rolle des Menschen mit sich bringt.
Künstliche Intelligenz ist in der Kunst kein eigenständiger Akteur, sondern ein Werkzeug. Sie kann Prozesse beschleunigen und Varianten erzeugen, doch Bedeutung entsteht erst durch die Entscheidung des Menschen. Gleichzeitig wirft KI in der Kunst wichtige Fragen auf, etwa zum Urheberrecht, zur Kreativität und zur Rolle des Menschen im Schaffensprozess. „KI ist kein Ersatz für Kunstschaffende, sondern ein Werkzeug, das es ermöglicht, völlig neue kreative Horizonte zu erschließen“, erklärt Karl-Heinz Land. Er sieht in dieser technologischen Entwicklung große Chancen, gleichzeitig aber auch eine Verpflichtung, den Umgang mit KI sorgfältig zu gestalten. „Kunst und KI können gemeinsam Großartiges schaffen, aber wir müssen dabei den Dialog zwischen Mensch und Maschine in den Mittelpunkt stellen.“
