MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE WORK

EXPERIMENT, From Virtuality to Reality...

Rudolf Bonvie is one of the first media artists. His works are among others included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Museum Ludwig, Cologne and the ZKM Karlsruhe. The prices for his works usually range between 10.000 - 20.000 EUR. This affordable edition of 1.000 was designed in order to provide an opportunity for young artlovers to be able to acquire a real piece of art. Also, this edition is the object of an experiment: to examine if young people want to actually HAVE in reality what they SHARE virtually (The "Dialog" sequence from 1973 has been reblogged over 70.000 times to this date). This does away with the anonymity of the internet and raises a fascinating question:
Do we just "like" and "share" these days or can a picture find its way from the computer screen to the wall.
