David Zink Yi studierte an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste München und an der Universität der Künste, Berlin.
Das Werk von DAVID ZINK YI kreist um die Themen Schöpfung, Manifestation und Identitätskonstruktion. Im Alter von 16 Jahren verließ der Künstler seine Heimat Peru und reiste nach Deutschland. Inspiriert von seinen hier gemachten Erfahrungen begann er, die komplexen Aspekte von Identitätskonstruktion zu hinterfragen. Seine multidisziplinäre Praxis umfasst Installationen aus den Bereichen Film, Fotografie, Skulptur, Performance, Keramik und Mehrkanal-Video.
DAVID ZINK YI
Born in Lima, Peru, in 1973; lives and works in Berlin
David Zink Yi studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK).
The work of DAVID ZINK YI centres on the themes of creation, manifestation and identity construction. At the age of 16, the artist left his native Peru and travelled to Germany. Inspired by his experiences here, he began to examine the complex aspects of identity construction. His multidisciplinary approach includes installations from the areas of film, photography, sculpture, performance, ceramic and multichannel video.
